In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump labeled the Grammy Awards among the ‘worst’ award ceremonies, saying CBS was ‘lucky’ not to air what he described as ‘garbage.’ He also criticized Trevor Noah’s performance as host, deeming it inferior to that of Jimmy Kimmel, an iconic figure in American talk shows.
These statements followed a remark by Trevor Noah during the ceremony, in which the host mentioned Donald Trump and former President Bill Clinton in connection with Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender. Trump immediately contested the allusion.
« I have never been to Epstein’s Island, nor anywhere near it », he assured, denying any association with the latter and stating that such accusations had never been reported by the media before. He described Trevor Noah’s remarks as ‘inaccurate’ and ‘defamatory.’
Additionally, Trump hinted that he was considering legal action against the host, describing him as ‘pathetic’ and ‘talentless,’ mentioning the possibility of a damages action.
