After sustaining an ankle injury earlier this week, Kylian Mbappé has officially been cleared to play in the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona. The Real Madrid forward is only suffering from a mild sprain in his right ankle and is expected to be fit in time for the highly anticipated clash.

This comes as a relief for Real Madrid head coach Carlo Ancelotti. The French striker, who started in Wednesday’s 2–1 defeat to Arsenal in the Champions League quarter-final second leg, left the pitch before full time after picking up the knock. The incident sparked concern in Madrid, with fears that the star signing might be ruled out of the final.

Fortunately, the scare appears to be minimal. According to AS, medical tests conducted on Friday confirmed that the 26-year-old only has a “minor sprain” in his right ankle. The injury is not considered serious and should not affect his availability for the Copa del Rey final against Barcelona, scheduled for Saturday, April 26.

However, Mbappé will miss two La Liga matches: this weekend’s game against Athletic Bilbao due to suspension, and next Wednesday’s away fixture at Getafe.
