On the eve of a crucial trip to Sunderland, the Portuguese coach defended his system of play, saying it wasn’t the main cause of his team’s difficulties.
The Red Devils, beaten 3-1 by Brentford in the last round, sit 14th in the table after six matches.
“The worst part of this job is not winning, said Amorim. It’s the same feeling I had at Casa Pia when I was losing in the third division. Of course, it’s a dream to be here, and I want to carry on — I want to fight for this club.”
Before concluding: “What hurts me isn’t the fear of losing my job, but the fear of losing matches. People worry about their job when they have bills to pay, but I don’t feel that way.”
