Champions League: Lamine Yamal dethrones Kylian Mbappé
At 17, FC Barcelona winger Lamine Yamal has become the player involved in the most Champions League goals before turning 18, thanks to a new assist in the win against Frankfurt.

Barcelona’s young star, Lamine Yamal, set a new record following the Blaugrana’s 2-1 victory over Frankfurt on Tuesday night in the Champions League. Having provided the assist for Jules Koundé’s opening goal, the Spanish winger is now involved in more Champions League goals than any player aged 18 or under in the history of the competition. In doing so he erased from the record books a certain Kylian Mbappé, now at Real Madrid.
At the Spotify Camp Nou, Barça nonetheless had to fight hard to claim the three points.
Trailing at the interval after Ansgar Knauff opened the scoring, the Catalans turned the game around thanks to a Koundé brace in the second half, with one goal set up by Marcus Rashford and the other by young Yamal, once again decisive on the European stage.
