“The Bernabéu is never an easy place,” Guardiola warns Man City ahead of the showdown against Real Madrid
Before the Champions League showdown against Real Madrid, Pep Guardiola reminded everyone how difficult it is to play at the Santiago-Bernabéu, despite Manchester City’s good momentum. The Catalan coach warned his players: the trip to Spain looks like it will be tricky.

Pep Guardiola called on his players to be vigilant ahead of the Champions League clash that will see Manchester City face Real Madrid on Wednesday. After the 3-0 win over Sunderland in the Premier League, the Catalan coach stressed the difficulty of travelling to the Santiago-Bernabéu, despite the current rough patch for the Madrid club.
Real Madrid, recently beaten 2-0 by Celta Vigo in La Liga, will try to respond in front of their fans when they host the Citizens. A context Guardiola is particularly wary of: ” We have more players available than on our last visit to the Bernabéu,” he said.
He then warned: “The Bernabéu is never an easy place. There, we’ll see what happens.”
