Fabio Capello: “Cristiano Ronaldo doesn’t have the genius of Messi, Maradona or Ronaldo Nazario”
The former Real Madrid coach, Fabio Capello, believes that, despite his outstanding effectiveness, Cristiano Ronaldo does not possess the natural talent of the three legends, Messi, Maradona, and Ronaldo Nazario, whom he places above the Portuguese.
Fabio Capello has not placed Cristiano Ronaldo at the top of his personal hierarchy. The former Real Madrid coach believes that the Portuguese does not possess the “genius” of Lionel Messi, Diego Maradona or Ronaldo Nazario. Invited to the Hat-trick show on the Egyptian channel ON Sport, the retired Italian coach delivered a cutting analysis. While he acknowledges Ronaldo’s athletic qualities and exceptional goal-scoring sense, Capello considers that the former Madrilene does not possess the instinctive creativity of the three aforementioned legends.
“Cristiano is an extraordinary striker and a fantastic athlete, but he does not have the exceptional talent of Messi, Maradona or Ronaldo Nazario,” he stated, with remarks relayed by Kooora.com. “He does not possess that analytical finesse and this natural genius. One cannot compare him to those three.”
Capello, who coached Ronaldo Nazario at Real Madrid, says he speaks from experience. He had also tried to lure a young Lionel Messi to Juventus after observing him during a friendly match against Barça. At 41, Cristiano Ronaldo regularly claims the status of the greatest player in history. He is now only 39 goals away from the symbolic 1,000 official goals.
