The facts came to light following a report from residents of the Zoungoudo neighborhood, intrigued by the presence of a craftsman painting, in the middle of the bush, a Toyota Corolla without a license plate.

Alerted, the authorities immediately went to the scene and opened an investigation.
Questioned, the painter said he was acting on the instruction of a mechanic, presented as his client. Interrogated in turn, the latter claimed to be able to lead the police to the owner of the vehicle.

A promise that went unfulfilled, the person concerned subsequently fled.
Investigations continued with technical verifications, which identified the true owner of the vehicle.

Cross-checks performed show that the car was the subject of a wanted notice issued by the Savi police station, in Ouidah, as part of an armed robbery that resulted in the death of the owner.

Considered suspects, the painter and the mechanic were placed in custody. The investigation continues to determine responsibilities, identify the perpetrators of the crime, and any potential accomplices.
