Founder of the Houdégbé North American University of Benin (HNAUB), present in Benin, Ghana and the Central African Republic, Professor Houdégbé left a lasting mark on education, politics and tradition in Beninese society.

Originally from Dékanmè, in the commune of Kpomassè, Octave Cossi Houdégbé distinguished himself through an exceptional career that combined political commitment, academic contributions and a traditional role.

Born on November 28, 1945, into a distinguished lineage of the kingdom of Allada, he was enthroned as king of Dahe with the title Dada Kokpon.

On the political front, he served as a deputy in the Beninese National Assembly during the 7th and 8th legislatures, notably under the banner of the Bloc Républicain, where he worked with determination and dedication to the country’s development.

His passing leaves a considerable void in the academic, political and traditional spheres, and his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
