Benin: LD party’s resigned MPs pledge to help secure a Wadagni–Talata victory
Former parliamentarians of the party Les Démocrates (LD) officially announce their support for the presidential duo Romuald Wadagni – Mariam Chabi Talata.

Facing the press and in front of leaders and activists from the two pro-government blocs, Constant Nahum and his associates, who have turned their backs on the LD party, explained that their decision is the result of a “thorough, clear‑sighted reflection free from any pressure.”
According to Constant Nahum, the choice of the Wadagni–Talata camp stems from a mature deliberation, guided by a single compass: the supreme interest of the nation.
The former LD deputies insist that their initiative is not directed against any political actor. They say they want to contribute to a project capable of “ensuring stability, continuity and momentum for development” at a time when, they say, Benin is at a strategic turning point in its history.
For them, the current context requires a sense of perspective, pragmatism and the ability to transcend divisions in order to support the country’s ongoing modernization trajectory.
