Resignation within LD: for reasons of principle, MP Sounon Boké Soumaïla quits the political scene
Deputy Sounon Boké Soumaïla today, Saturday, November 15, announced his resignation from the party Les Démocrates (LD).

A decision he presents as a matter of principle, motivated by what he describes as a deep drift in the national political scene.
In his statement, the deputy says that “political life no longer respects any orthodoxy,” describing an environment where reference points, values and operational frameworks have gradually disappeared.
He says he can no longer continue to endorse a system that, in his view, is moving away from the political standards he believes in.
The deputy apologizes to those who placed their trust in him under the LD banner, while assuring that he is not permanently leaving the political scene. He leaves the door open to a return, but on one condition: that political life returns to normal and regains credibility.
This resignation comes against a backdrop of internal tensions and a reshaping of the political landscape, just months before major milestones. It adds another discordant note to a party already facing strong internal and external pressures.
