Arrest of Debordo: “Leave God’s chosen one alone,” Emma Dobré makes an important request to Kerozen
Producer Emma Dobré publicly expressed her support for the artist Kerozen, who is targeted by serious allegations of weapons possession made by Debordo Leekunfa. She appeals to the singer’s wisdom and urges him to favor forgiveness.

The Ivorian music industry is once again shaken by the arrest of coupé-décalé artist Debordo Leekunfa following a complaint from Kerozen. At the heart of the storm, Debordo allegedly claimed that Kerozen was keeping weapons at his home. A statement judged serious, unfounded and dangerous by the artist’s camp. The latter immediately filed a complaint to clear his name.
Faced with this affair that divides Beninese showbiz, producer Emma Dobré, a pillar of Kerozen’s career, broke her silence. In an open letter, she expressed her concern and solidarity with her artist. « J’ai été profondément peinée et sincèrement inquiète d’entendre les propos tenus par ton collègue… », she writes. She acknowledges that such allegations can jeopardize a family’s safety and a man’s honor.
Emma Dobré points out that Kerozen’s reaction, who has taken legal action, was understandable given the seriousness of the insinuations. « This tense situation has become a lesson for everyone, including Debordo, » she added.

In her message, the producer appealed to her artist, Kerozen. « You will show a greatness of soul and a strength of spirit that will only further cement your status as a leader, » she insists;
“In the name of wisdom and the cohesion of the Ivorian music scene, I come personally, and with great humility, to ask you to show clemency. We are all, in this field, ambassadors and examples. This tense situation has become a lesson for everyone, including Debordo. You will show a magnanimity of soul and a strength of spirit that will only further cement your status as a leader and a sage in the industry. I am convinced that forgiveness and reconciliation are the greatest victory. Let go of L’élu de Dieu”, she asked Kerozen bluntly.
According to Emma Dobré, only forgiveness can restore peace to an industry already weakened by rivalries and controversies. It should be noted that in this case, Debordo was placed in pretrial detention on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Abidjan prison (MACA).
