The case traces back about ten days earlier: on the night of October 23–24, a downtown disc jockey noticed his motorcycle had disappeared from his veranda.

Reconstructing the events, police were informed that the group was active in the Zouvou neighborhood; the suspects reportedly spent their time at a motel, using drugs and boasting about their criminal activity.

The surprise raid was organized after specific intelligence. The search of the motel led to the arrest of the three suspects. Police seized two homemade pistols and a 12-gauge cartridge.

A more in-depth investigation led to a 35-year-old fence in Azovè, at whose place six motorcycles were found, including the bike stolen from the DJ, as well as a master key and a set of gris-gris (protective amulets).

The three young men are now in the custody of the public prosecutor’s office at the Aplahoué court. The operation is hailed as a success in the fight against insecurity in Klouékanmè and across the Couffo department.
