According to several witnesses, the dispute began when Nawat Itsaragrisil allegedly criticized the Mexican representative for not having posted promotional content on her social media, then called her “stupid” in front of other contestants. Facing the remark, which was deemed insulting, Bosch reportedly expressed her displeasure, which led the organizer to threaten to call security and disqualify contestants who defended her. Embarrassed and emotional, Miss Mexico then left the ceremony, followed by several other contestants in a show of support.

In a video that went viral, recorded outside the event venue, Fátima Bosch denounced the official’s behavior, which she called “disrespectful and demeaning to women.” “I truly love Thailand and its people, but your director’s behavior is unacceptable.
