Dear Activists and Supporters of the Mouvement Nous Le Ferons,

My dear compatriots,

Following recent developments in our country’s political life regarding the upcoming presidential election and the growing despair they are causing in public opinion, it is important for me today to address you. To reassure you. As a bearer of a vision for our country. As president of the movement NOUS LE FERONS. As an activist of the party Les Démocrates.

At this stage, which in no way signifies the end of our mission, I want to thank each and every one of you for the trust you have placed in our vision and for your unfailing support.

We would not have become a credible alternative in Beninese politics without the multifaceted contribution of each and every one of you. I urge you not to give up.

Despite the shocks our party Les Démocrates is currently going through — which we will overcome together by the grace of God — your determination compels me never to deviate from our common ideal: to transform our country sustainably, turning it from a geographical territory inhabited by several ethnic groups into a true nation, driven by a shared vision that reassures all citizens, regardless of the geographic origin of the person who holds the office of President of the Republic.

I reiterate my commitment here: Nous le ferons.

My dear compatriots,

Since 2014, we have chosen to bring competing visions into the political debate, rather than a confrontation of personalities.

We have defined a clear vision — that of a Benin that is economically prosperous and socially stable within a well-integrated and thriving Africa — a vision we have consistently defended and will continue to promote.

As you have noticed, our consistency in promoting this vision is today our true hallmark.

The step we have just taken is a moral and political victory — one of perseverance and clarity of our commitment.

At a time when it is fashionable to fall in line to secure peace and bread, I urge us to choose the path of dignity and loyalty to our shared ideal.

Our commitment is motivated by the conviction that a virtuous politics based on a clear and shared vision can sustainably transform our country.

My dear compatriots,

With faith and determination, we remain fully committed to continuing the democratic struggle to free our country from the harmful values that hinder its development and tarnish its image.

Our struggle is only beginning. Let us be and remain builders, trailblazers.

Ideas can be fought, but they cannot be stopped.

As long as those who carry them remain dignified and determined, they will always eventually triumph.

So let us remain standing, dignified and triumphant.

The end of suffering is near.

Together, Nous le Ferons… and it will be bright for everyone, everywhere in Benin.

God bless Benin and all of Africa!

Thank you.
