The curtain has fallen on the qualifiers for the 2026 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations, whose final return legs concluded this Tuesday, October 28. Twelve teams have secured their place in the final phase, which will be held in Morocco from March 17 to April 3, 2026.
Host country Morocco will be joined by tournament regulars, notably Nigeria, ten-time African champions, and South Africa, the defending champions. Other familiar teams at this continental tournament such as Zambia, Ghana and Algeria will also be taking part, as will rising sides like Cape Verde, Kenya and Malawi. Note that this 14th edition of the Women’s Africa Cup of Nations will also serve as a qualifying round for the 2027 Women’s World Cup, scheduled to be held in Brazil.
