In a statement signed by its Director General, Aristide Guy Adjinaçou Gnahoui, the agency announces the implementation of special measures to assist political party candidates in assembling their candidacy files.

These measures notably concern the issuance of identification documents such as the personal identification certificate, the secure birth certificate, and the residence certificate, which are essential for the validation of files by the competent institutions.

ANIP invites candidates who encounter difficulties obtaining any of these documents to contact the toll-free number 7054, available free of charge every day from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Interested parties can also approach ANIP unit chiefs stationed in all town halls in Benin and in the districts of municipalities with special status for close follow-up.

The agency specifies that candidates must clearly indicate the election for which they are running in order to receive prompt processing of their request.

According to the statement, ANIP representatives at the local level have been tasked with accompanying political actors in their administrative procedures, with a view to ensuring everyone’s inclusion in the electoral process.

“ANIP reaffirms its commitment to guarantee every citizen effective and equitable access to identification services, in order to promote open and transparent democratic participation in the upcoming electoral events,” concludes the agency’s note.
