Diogo Jota and his brother André Silva, who died Thursday in a car accident, will be buried this Saturday in Gondomar, Portugal, their father Manuel Macedo has announced.
The funeral ceremony for Diogo Jota, the tragically deceased Liverpool forward, and his brother André Silva, will take place this Saturday at 10 am in Gondomar, Portugal.
Initially scheduled for Friday at 4 pm, the mass has been postponed, confirmed Father José Manuel Macedo, the local priest in charge of the funeral services. He had initially communicated the Friday date, before officially announcing the shift to Saturday morning.
According to information from the Mirror, this delay is related to minor administrative formalities that are necessary before repatriation of the bodies to Portugal.
A funeral vigil is planned at the São Cosme chapel, ahead of the burial mass that will be held at the Igreja Matriz de Gondomar, the main Catholic church in the city.
Diogo Jota, aged 28, lost his life in a tragic car accident that occurred Wednesday night to Thursday, while he was traveling in Spain with his brother André. The tragedy has shocked the world of football, both in Portugal and internationally.
