Thanks to a stoppage-time goal from Matheus Nunes, Manchester City secured a hard-fought 2–1 win over Aston Villa on Tuesday night in the Premier League. A crucial victory that Pep Guardiola celebrated with great enthusiasm.

Manchester City took another major step toward Champions League qualification. The Citizens bagged three precious points in a tightly contested match against Aston Villa. The home side clinched a 2–1 win, with Matheus Nunes netting the winner in added time.

With this result, Manchester City temporarily move up to third place in the standings, overtaking Nottingham Forest. The final whistle sparked wild celebrations from Pep Guardiola.
“Football is about emotion,” he told the press in the mixed zone. “Look at how everyone played today—we were so aggressive. We’ll need that in the semifinal. I was incredibly impressed by Forest and how they defended every ball like it was their last. That’s talent. We’re now focused on the last four games. If we win them, we’ll be there.”
