Benin – Reform of the status of contract teachers: the government reinforces their integration

- Publicité-

President Patrice Talon intends to improve conditions for government contract teachers. Meeting in the Council of Ministers on Wednesday March 26, the government adopted a decree amending and supplementing the provisions of decree no. 2023-373 of July 19, 2023.

This measure concerns contract teachers who have passed the diagnostic evaluation, and is designed to provide a framework for their integration into the civil service.

According to the Council’s minutes, this amendment is intended to facilitate the transition of the teachers concerned and guarantee a more structured reversion process. By reinforcing their status, the Beninese executive is pursuing its reforms to professionalize the teaching profession.

The decree is part of an overall drive to modernize public administration and improve working conditions for civil servants.

By securing their status, the government confirms its commitment to more effective educational governance and sustainable development of human capital.
